Breakfast was small and only cereal or full English to choose from. The shower was good but incredibly small and felt very claustrophobic. The room was nice and well decorated but overpriced for what was actually provided.
Could not fault the venue very nice .would stay again but not eat in your hotel/bar very poor was the food .
Sorry but the meal that we choose was not to what we expected very poor and ruined avery nice day ,would never eat in your hotel again if we stayed with you again .would recommend you as to sleep and drink but your food must improve other wise downward you will go and no one will return again to the old bull
Royston not particularly nice location. Private party on Saturday evening was quite noisy. Very average.
We were upgraded at no extra cost to a four poster bed room. Also the bathroom was lovely. Pleasant staff.
The way the staff went to great lengths to assist us in our requests, which were many, all staff were incredibly helpful, was a special occasion and they stepped up to the mark
Location ideal for trip reason
Room didn't look loke it had ever been dusted and the number of cobwebs.Expensive for what it was and the breakfast included was cold.
It is central to the town and has a lovely courtyard
This establishment can be divided into two time zones: bar open and bar closed. The morning staff were very helpful just as a hotel should be but I had to queue at the bar to check in and later to inform them that the tv in my room did not work. I was told he was too busy to come and see to it, he was busy because he was serving at the bar! I reported it in the morning when I checked out. It was also very noisy (after 2300) from the bar downstairs. I am female, had a single room and did not wish to sit in the bar so I was pretty uncomfortable.
The staff were friendly and well turned out,bar and food service was very good. the rooms were comfartable. Good tea & coffee making.
The pub had a nice atmosphere to it and there was plenty of parking available.
The room was very small even for a single and the bathroom could do with being replaced as it was very old and shower was quite weak.
Well run, helpful and engaging staff
It was served a purpose to be near to where we were visiting. The man who checked us in was pleasant and kindly ordered us a taxi for later.
The room was very small. Bathroom was tiny and all a bit of a mish mash in decor. For the cost of the room I would of expected far more the hotel was very shabby. Room was freezing when we arrived and then we were sweating buckets in bed all night. They could use something on the bedroom window sills to stop the pigeons sitting on them and waking us up so early. Staff on for breakfast were very slow and we had to go and look for someone to come and serve us in the end after waiting in the dining room for breakfast for over 15mins which was poor when there was only one other couple in there, the girl said she was sorry she didn't know we were there (well shouldn't you check for people at least?) breakfast was pretty poor when we did finally get it. Not somewhere we would go back to unless there was nowhere else to go. So as we had hardly slept all night we got up and came home early to get some sleep.
Nothing in particular
Breakfast so poor I had to leave half. Shoddy indifferent and overpriced
it was a good room and breakfast was nice. Its not worth as much as we paid
We waited a long time to check in and out as under staffed
It was central for Royston, the staff and owners were nice people,we had our grandaughter staying and we did not incur any extra breakfast cost, the breakfast was good with a variety of choice, the room was cleaned and hoovered every day and the towels were changed twice in 3 days,it could get a little noisy at night due to the proximity of the ajoining conference rooms, better off asking for a room at the front if stopping on a weekend when there are functions on
Owners had had the place for only 3 months, the staircarpets are badly in need of replacing and the monsoon shower did not work,we asked for extra coat hangers but they did not arrive, and the upstairs needed a coat of paint
Bar staff very friendly and I thought the atmosphere in the bar was good along with my food.
Thought the toiletries were mean. No soap.
